Mark Winterbottom is prepared for his Race debut in the #18 IRWIN Racing Holden at the SuperLoop Adelaide 500 this coming weekend.
The opening round of the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will span across four days, with a 250km Race on both Saturday and Sunday.
Each Race will go for 78 laps on the South Australian Street Circuit, with temperatures forecast up to 40 degrees.
Determined for his debut in the IRWIN Racing Commodore, Winterbottom was pleased with the Phillip Island Test Day earlier this month and believes the team is in a good position heading into the weekend.
“First Round of the year, I am super pumped and I can’t wait to go racing with all of the crew,” Winterbottom said.
“It’s exciting, Phillip Island was a great Test Day, it’s a very different track to what Adelaide is and I hope what we learnt at Phillip Island will translate into a strong car this weekend.
“I’m really pumped for the first race of the year, it’s a tough one to win, this weekend dictates the champion to see who is a contender and who’s not – bring it on!”
IRWIN Racing will now take part in the Superloop Adelaide 500 for Round 1 of the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, to be held on 28 February – 3 March with all races to be televised LIVE on Fox Sports.
